South Carolina Super Senior: Three atop leaderboard

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Oct. 11, 2011) -- After a wet dreary first round of the SCGA's Super Senior Championship, there is a three way tie at even par 72 for the first round lead. Defending Champion Gary Shimmin of Okatie, Warrenville's Gunnar Bennett and Spring Valley member Bud Cronin all find themselves tied one shot ahead of three others heading into the final round

ABOUT THE South Carolina Super Senior

The Super Senior Championship began in 2007 as an off shoot of the SCGA's Senior Championship. The separate event made it possible to take the Super Senior's to different courses around the State and to play from yardages around 5,900 yards.

With the minimum age at 65 years old, the Super Seniors is an opportunity for event the most experienced golfer to still compete.
