Iowa Senior: Brummel leads by three
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Aug. 23, 2011) -- Bob Brummel of Orange City fired a 1-over par 71 in Tuesday's second round of the Iowa Senior Amateur Championship to maintain the three stroke advantage he had after day one.
Brummel sits at even par 144 while Jim Curell of Boone and Stephen Larson of Johnston are both at 3-over 147. All three players shot 73 on Tuesday. Matt Steddom of Marshalltown will join them in the final group after he posted an even par 72 in the second round. Steddom and Todd Hingtgen of Marion are each four strokes back at 148.
Scott Carnes of Hiawatha increased his lead in the Super Senior Division. Carnes shot a 75 on Tuesday and has a nine shot lead over Bill Ericksen of Alta.
