Kansas Senior Amateur: Norton wins

TOPEKA, KS. (Aug 16, 2011) -- Bryan Norton, Mission Hills, claimed his second straight Senior Amateur Championship at Topeka Country Club.

Norton finished the 36-hole championship at 4-under par 138 total to finish three shots ahead of runnerup Steve Newman, Wichita. Norton won the championship in 2010 at Crestview Country Club.

In the Super Senior Division, Topeka's Bill McDonald edged Olathe's Dick Landon for the crown.

McDonald finished at 4-over par 146 total. Gross/Net Division winners were Eddie Shirron, Topeka and Maurice Terrebonne, Wichita.

ABOUT THE Kansas Senior Amateur

Must be an member of the Kansas Golf Association. 36 holes of individual stroke play with two divisions: Championship (any age 50+) and Super Senior (60+). Players that wish to compete for the overall championship must enter the Championship Division. Gross and net champions to be determined in each division.
