Sun Country Challenge Cup: Amateurs fall again
SANDIA PARK, N.M. (August 15, 2011) -- The two-year Challenge Cup run came to a sudden halt for the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association Monday at Paa-Ko Ridge GC. The SCAGA team of the top 16 amateurs in the Sun Country Section just never seemed to get on track as they lost the morning team matches 16 1/2 to 7 1/2 and the afternoon singles matches as well 36 to 12.

The Ryder Cup style event that features the top players the SCAGA and the Sun Country PGA have to offer was conducted under perfect conditions at Paa-Ko, but the Amateur side wasn't able to capitalize on them. The SCSPGA now has won the Cup 29 times to the Amateurs 16 following their decisive 52 1/2 to 19 1/2 victory.
