Tate wins the 2011 Sun Country Women's Am

SANTA FE , N.M. (July 30th, 2011) - With a second straight sub-par round, Kelcey Tate of Albuquerque, N.M. captured the SCAGA Women's Championship. Her final round 70, Tate secured the most prestigious amateur title in Sun Country Women's Golf.

Early in the round, the outcome was not as clear as the eleven shot victory would eventually become. Starting eight shots back, Jennifer Delgadillo opened up with four birdies out of the first five holes to get within three shots of the lead. Unfortunately for Delgadillo she would lose her momentum and finish fourth overall.

The runner-up for the championship was Shania Berger of Socorro, N.M. who now positions herself as a force to be reckoned with for years to come. Perennial contender Nancy Romero finished in third alone.
