Carolinas Super Senior: Boswell rallies for win
Pawleys Island, SC (7/19/11) -- Final round results of the 3rd Super Senior Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by The Reserve Golf Club in Pawleys Island, SC on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 (Par 36-36—72, 6032 yards, Rating: 68.5/126).

2009 Carolinas Super Senior champion Larry Boswell of Jamestown, NC overcame a five-shot deficit to win the Carolinas Super Senior Championship. Boswell has now won two Carolinas Super Senior titles along with two North Carolina Super Senior Championship crowns.

Boswell finished at 142 and was the only player to finish under par at the Greg Norman designed golf course that played a shade over 6000 yards for the event.

Round one leader, Gary Strickfaden of Southern Pines, NC, held a three-shot lead after the 13th hole today but he carded four consecutive bogeys on the last four holes while Boswell played the same stretch at one-under par to seal a two stroke victory.

“It would have meant as much to me if Gary (Strickfaden) had won this event. We are great friends and I enjoy competing against him”, Boswell stated.

Boswell is now the holder of 14 CGA championship titles and is set to be inducted into the Carolinas Sports Writers Hall of Fame in August.
