Johnston stretches lead at CWGA Girls Stroke Play

BLOOMFIELD, COL. (July 12, 2011) — Allie Johnston of Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course extended her lead to four strokes after Tuesday’s second round of the CWGA Junior Stroke Play at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Broomfield.

Johnston, winner of an AJGA event in Texas last week, shot a 4-under-par 69 on Tuesday and stands at 7-under 139 going into Wednesday’s final round. She made five birdies for the second straight day, this time posting a 4-under-par 32 on the back nine.

The only other player at or under par is U.S. Women’s Public Links qualifier Shannon Lubar of the Meadows Golf Club, whose second-round 68 left her at 143. Shinwoo Lee of Kennedy Golf Course is in third place at 147 after a 75 on Tuesday.

Johnston, Lubar and Lee will tee off for Wednesday’s final round at 11:42 a.m.
