Nebraska Match Play: Coatman medalist in qualifier
Gothenburg, Neb. (June 22, 2011) -- Michael Coatman of Lincoln was medalist in qualifying for the 44th Nebraska Match Play Championship today at Wild Horse Golf Club. Coatman's score of 1-under par 71 topped Andy Sajevic of Fremont by one stroke. The pair of golfers earn the top two seeds respectively for the match play portion which began at 3 p.m. with a shotgun start.
Sixty-four golfers advanced out of the morning session which was re-scheduled for an afternoon start following delays in play Tuesday. Following today's afternoon matches the championship will return to its originally schedule with second and third round action Thursday, quarterfinal and semifinal rounds Friday and a 36-hole final Saturday.
