Wisconsin Governors Cup: Westerich wins in playoff
NEKOOSA, WIS (June 22, 2011) -- Todd Westrich of Northbrook Country Club made up ground in a hurry to win the Wisconsin State Golf Association Governor's Cup tournament Tuesday at Lake Arrowhead Golf Club in Nekoosa.
Westrich birdied his final three holes to tie Robert Gregorski of North Shore Golf Club and send the tournament into a playoff, which Westrich won.
Ramiro Romo of Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine shot an 81 in the final round Tuesday and tied for eighth at 155 for the top Racine County finish.
Westrich and Gregorski played in the final group with Jon Jacobs of West Bend Country Club and both shot their second straight even-par 72s to tie at 144. Jacobs shot a 79 and dropped back to sixth at 151.
In other Racine County results, Mike Greb of Meadowbrook tied for 10th at 156 (77-79), Bill Winkler of Racine Country Club tied for 20th at 159 (78-81), Ken Heffel of H.F. Johnson Park tied for 32nd at 165 (83-82) and Dan Lenczner of Johnson Park tied for 51st at 176 (86-90).

ABOUT THE Wisconsin Mid-Amateur
In 2014, the Director's Cup Championship and
Governor's Cup Championship were combined into
the Mid-Amateur Championship. This statewide 36-
hole tournament is conducted for players age 25 and
older. The championship trophy is awarded to the
player with the lowest 36-hole gross score.
Additionally, players compete in two age divisions,
representing the formats of the former Director's
Cup and Governor's Cup Championships. Players age
25-39 will compete in a Director's Cup division and
players age 40-54 will compete in a Governor's Cup
division. Prizes are also awarded in both gross and
net divisions. To be eligible, players must have a
WSGA Handicap Index of 11.4 or less.
