North Carolina Women's Amateur Championship: Dammann leads by two
WALLACE, NC (June 14, 2011) -- Katja
Dammann of Pinehurst, NC fired a two-over-
par, 74 and takes a two shot lead over 2009
champion, Katherine Perry of Cary, NC and Lori
Beth Adams of Burlington, NC in the North
Carolina (NCWGA) Women's Amateur
Championship.
"I feel like I played
pretty steady today," Dammann said. "The
greens were a little challenging for me to read
so I feel like a few shots were left out there. I
hope to score a little better tomorrow."
Lori Beth Adams could say she has the
home course advantage as she plays here
often with the women's golf team at UNC-
Wilmington. She is hoping that her local
knowledge will lead her to victory.
In
the State tee division, Cynthia Curry of
Charlotte, NC shot a 78 to take the lead by
three shots over Donna Johnson of Asheboro,
NC. These players play a shorter course.
Players will begin play at 8:00am off the #1
and #10 tee.
