Watson Challenge: Watson leads, yes it's Tom
KANSAS CITY, Missouri (June 11, 2011) --Tom Watson is back where he belongs at the 2011 Watson Challenge. Watson adorns the 36 hole leaderboard after a 2-under par 70 at Blue Hills Country Club. Watson was quick to catch the leaders as a birdie at number two brought him within a single stroke of the lead. A steady string of pars afterward led to a 1-under par front side 35. A stumble at the tenth dropped Watson back to even until birdies at thirteen and eighteen granted him the overnight lead going into the final round of the 2011 Watson Challenge.

Rob Wilkin and host professional Todd Loechler are tied at 1-under par, only one stroke back of the lead. Watson's victory is anything but assured, but he has a brilliant history of holding off his competitors in the Challenge.

The low amateur in the field is Ryan Zeck of Kearney, MO with a 145, three strokes back.
