Nebraska (NJGA) Girls Match Play Championship: Lemek wins third straight
ASHLAND, NEB. (June 8, 2011) -- Danielle Lemek of Doniphan won a third straight girls state match play championship Wednesday defeating Morgan Smejkal of Columbus 6 and 5 in the 18-hole final at Ashland Golf Club.
Lemek advanced to the championship match by defeating Stephanie Rodgers of Unidilla 4 and 3 in a morning semifinal. Smejkal defeated qualifying co-medalist, Sarah Jo Pravecek of Omaha 3 and 2 in the other semifinal.
Other flight winners included Kaitlyn Krzyzanowski of Scottsbluff (1st Flight) and Nicole Krager of Omaha (2nd Flight). Krzyzanowski defeated Madeleine Koenig of Lincoln 3 and 1 while Krager topped Kaitlyn Strudthoff of Omaha 7 and 6.
