MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP: SEPTEMBER 16-18
We couldn't be more excited to visit Antioch's Roddy Ranch on September
16-18 for our first ever Match Play Championship. Friday qualifying will
determine 8 players in each division who will face off against those who
are exempt due to their ranking on the amateurgolf.com Tournament Series
points
list. Two matches on Saturday, followed by two matches on Sunday,
will determine the champion in each division. You play as long as you
keep winning, and suffice to say that the adrenaline of match play is
more than enough to eliminate the fatigue of playing 36 holes in a day.
NOTE: We have extended the registration deadline for exempt players (the
highest ranked 8 players from each of our 3 divisions who register to
play) to September 1st. Because several players have other
commitments
(li
ke the US
Senior Amateur) we will likely go down the list farther than the top 8,
so if you're close you can call us at 760-929-9297. To

STOCKER
CUP 5-SPOT QUALIFIER: SEPTEMBER 19 Harding
Park reclaimed its position as one of the country's finest courses in
2003 after Sandy Tatum successfully led an effort to renovate the venerable
layout. In the process, Tatum brought a major professional event to
San Francisco, The American Express World Golf Championship being played
in early October. amateurgolf.com is pleased to be holding a qualifier
for The Stocker Cup just two weeks prior to the arrival of Tiger, Phil,
and Vijay and the setup will be almost identical to what the pros will
play. The qualifier is open to players aged 25 and over with a handicap
index of 2.4 or lower.
While amateurgolf.com can't claim the level of impact on golf that Mr.
Tatum has had, we are proud nonetheless of our effort to expand the
scope of one of the country's finest amateur tournaments through an
open qualifying event. In 2004, we ran the first-ever 5-spot qualifier
at Harding Park and 72 players competed with a score of 75 making the
field as first alternate and a medalist score of 72.
So you know what you're trying to qualify for ... The Stocker Cup is
a mid amateur tournament where a field of 50 top mid amateurs plays
a two-fold competition over 72 holes at the unbelievable Preserve Golf
Club in Carmel. A team competition where each amateur is paired AT&T
Pebble Beach-style with a friend of the late Peter Stocker is held simultaneously
with an individual 72 hole medal play competition ranked by Golfweek
Magazine as a national points event. To register or find out

MISSION
VIEJO CHAMPIONSHIP: SEPTEMBER 24-25 When
we first heard about the opening of Arroyo Trabuco, we knew it would
be the logical place to start our move south, where we plan to offer
Southern California amateurs the same level of competition that has
made our events staples on the NCGA Points Schedule.
Like our two-day events in Northern California, the tournament will
have three divisions:
Scratch: Players aged 16 and over with handicap index
less than 5.5
Senior Scratch: Players aged 50- and over with handicap
index less than 8.0
Net: Players aged 16 and over with handicap index 5.5
to 15.0.
We always offer a generous prize fund, and carts are included in your
entry fee. And the tournament, like all our events, is open to players
from all over the world -- we have already had several entries from
our Northern California 'regulars.' To register or find out
more, please click

About the course
Arroyo Trabuco, designed by Tom Lehman and Casey O'Callaghan, opened
to rave reviews in 2004. Just one turn off of the 5 freeway and short
drive east on Avery Parkway gets you there- and you will be greeted
by not only a superb test of golf, but all the amenities that you would
expect from a private club (only this one isn't) such as a grass practice
facility, restaurant and bar, and outdoor dining area.
