FCWT Boys National Championship: Holmes Leads

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (May 28, 2011) --Greg Holmes of Ottawa, CANADA, has placed himself atop the leaderboard with a round of 3 under par (69). As the afternoon wave made its way around the course, that score stood, until James Yoon posted a 4 under at the turn. Unfortunately for Yoon, it didn't hold up for his second nine. For Holmes, as the dusk settled, so did his resolve to lead the field into Round Two on Sunday. On Friday night, Holmes was named a 1st team All American and was awarded the "For the Good of the Game" Award along with Tess Fraser.

Holmes knows that Sunday will not be a runaway round. He will need his "A" game as there is plenty of talent on this leaderboard and many of them are only 2 shots behind: Will Davenport of Palm City, FL (2011), Meechai Padungsiriseth of BANGKOK (2013), Zach Foushee of West Linn, OR (2012), Clancy Waugh of North Palm Beach, FL (2013). Three strokes back at even par are: Harrison Shih of Saddle River, NJ (2012), Gabriel Ormachea of Aventura, FL (2012), who won at Whistling Straits, Cristobal del Solar of CHILE, Maxime Blandin of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL (2012), and James Yoon of Bradenton, FL (2012).
