Missouri Women's Senior: Berkmeyer wins 10th

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (May 19, 2011) -- Fast greens at Glen Echo Country Club made the difference today at the MWGA Women's Senior Championship. Barbara Berkmeyer wins her record tenth Missouri Senior Women's Championship title by two shots over Patty Robinson of Poplar Bluff, MO.

Going in to the eighteenth hole, Barbara and Patty were even, when Patty's second shot landed in a greenside bunker. Patty double bogeyed the hole and Barbara sunk a putt for par. Janis Clemens of Sedalia shot a 78 in the rainy conditions to rally into third place.

Pattie Canter of Glen Echo earned the Low Net Champion trophy with her two day total net score of 140.

ABOUT THE Missouri Senior Women's Amateur

A thirty-six (36) hole, stroke play competition. Flights will be established by handicap index. Pairings for the first day of competition will be within flight, low to high. Pairings for the second day of competition will be within flights based upon first round gross scores, high to low. The low two day gross score will determine the Senior Champion. The low two day net score will determine the Senior Low Net Winner. Must reside in the State of Missouri or Johnson County, Kansas, for at least 60 days prior to the first day of tournament.
