Woodruff on top at Calif. Women's Senior Am
SALINAS, Calif. (May 17, 2011) – On a cold, windy, rainy day, two time champion Sandy Woodruff of Santa Cruz is the leader after the second round of the 33rd playing of the California Senior Women's Amateur Championship. Woodruff shot 153 (77-76) and is just one ahead of seven time champion, Marianne Towersey of Pebble Beach who shot 154 (77-77.)

First round leader, Mistue Lewis of San Diego who fired a 73 on Monday at the Corral de Tierra Country Club dropped back today with an 83 and is now three off the lead. Defending champion Tina Barker of Vacaville, is four back at 157 (78-79.)

The California Senior Women’s Amateur Championship started in 1979 and has been played at Old Del Monte Golf Course, Laguna Seca, Carmel Valley Ranch, Bayonet and Black Horse, Poppy Hills, and Corral de Tierra Country Club. Age Limit: 50 and over (Super Senior’s Flight: 70 and over), with Gross and Net flights

Format is 36 holes of Stroke Play.
