Texas 4-Ball: Tie at the top heading to final round

KERRVILLE, Texas (May 14, 2011) -- John Bearrie and Aaron Hickman followed up their first-round 66 with the same score in the second round and notched a tie for the lead at the Texas Four-Ball Championship heading into Sunday's final round.

Bearrie and Hickman are tied with Trevor Hyde and David Pocknall, who were atop the leaderboard after Day 1 with a 63. Hyde and Pocknall shot 69 in Round 2.

Austin Williams and Mike McCaffrey are just one shot back after a second-round 66 while Rodney Thompson and Steve Colwick fired their second straight 67 and are now two shots behind the leaders.

ABOUT THE Texas Four-Ball

Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur golfers age 25 or older as of the first round of tournament play, with a certified USGA Handicap Index of 8.4 or less. Please reference “TGA State Championship Eligibility” at www.txga.org for additional eligibility details.

Format: Scheduled for 54 holes of Four–Ball Stroke Play.

The field is limited to 80 teams, as outlined below:
Championship: 25 & Over (48 teams)
Senior: 55 & Over (20 teams)
Super Senior: 65 & Over (12 teams)
