New York (NYSGA) Women's Senior Championship

NAPLES, NY (August 17, 2005) -- The final round of the 53rd Senior Women’s Amateur Championship was held Wednesday at Reservoir Creek Golf Club in Naples, NY. Maggie Kril of Durand Eastman Golf Club posted the low score of the day and the championship, firing a three-over-par 74 for a two-day total of 153. Kril made the turn 2 shots out of the lead, but played the back side in 1-under par 35 to secure the victory.

First day leader Michelle Marquis of The Pompey Club finished as runner-up after a final round 83, leaving her with a two round total of 159. Defending champion Kathy Hunt of Brookfield Country Club started her round six strokes off the lead and then shot an 84 to finish tied for ninth.

ABOUT THE New York Women's Senior Amateur

These championships (run concurrently) are two-day, 36-hole stroke play competitions with no cut. Entries will be limited to female amateur golfers who enjoy membership privileges at Clubs belonging to the New York State Golf Association, or are NYSGA Associate Members. Entrants must have reached their 50th birthday.
