Tim Miller joins Jim Carley atop Florida Senior leaderboard
Jim Carley and Tim Miller share the lead heading into the final round of play of the 50th Senior Amateur Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club in Bradenton. The final round will begin at 8:00 am on Wednesday, April 13.
After 36 holes, Jim Carley, of Ormond Beach, and the 2008 Champion, Tim Miller, of Venice, share the lead at eight-under par 136. Carley’s second round of three-under par 69 included four birdies, and just one bogey. In the first round Carley fired an impressive five-under par 67. Miller continued his solid play in the second round with another round of four-under par 68. Miller’s flawless second round included four birdies and no bogies. Sitting alone in third place is Robert Hess, of Casselberry, who moved up the leader board by firing a four-under par 68, to go along with his first round one-under par 71. Hess sits just three strokes behind the leaders.
The Defending Champion Bill Zylstra, of Ocklawaha, currently sits alone in fourth place. After opening with a one-under par 71, Zylstra fired a three-under par 69 in the second round to sit at four-under par for the Championship.
