In Mississippi, Alan Ellis wins Patrick Farms Invitational

JACKSON, Miss. (April 10, 2011) --Windy conditions at Patrick Farms made for challenging conditions in the final round of the Patrick Farms Invitational.

Defending champion Alan Ellis didn’t let the weather affect his play -- he shot 2-under par 70 on Sunday for a two day total of 149, edging past Clark Richardson and Lane Pippin by a single shot.

Bill Bartlett shot 70-79-149 to win the Super Senior Division by three strokes. Lynn Pippin of Ocean Springs finished runner up 75-77-152. Mike Justice rounds out the top three at 77-80-157.

There was an exciting finish in the Senior division with a three way tie at one under par 141. Charlie Keeton, Ronnie Posey, and Ricky Sims went to the first hole for a hole by hole playoff to determine the champion. Keeton used his home course knowledge to birdie the first hole to win the Senior Division title.

ABOUT THE Patrick Farms Invitational

Eligibility: Open to Male Amateur golfers who have reached their 17th birthday on or before the first day of the tournament.

Format: Field size is limited to first 100 paid players. The tournament is scheduled for 36 holes of stroke play. The field will be flighted after 18 holes of play. Championship flight (24 players), other flights (12 players).

Net Division: All players with an active handicap through the GHIN service will participate in the Net Division.
