Host Cal Poly defeated Sacramento State in a team playoff to claim the second annual Lamkin Grip Challenge at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, Calif.

The two-day tournament, which was originally slated as a 54-hole match play event, was shortened to 36 holes of stroke play due to weather conditions.

Cal Poly and Sacramento State finished tied with combined scores of 583 after the first 36 holes before taking the 18th for a team playoff. The host Mustangs combined to go 4-under on the par-5, 498-yard 18th. Sacramento State was 3-under.

On the playoff hole, Daniel Miller and Bruce Greeley birdied but it was Pace Johnson's eagle that was the difference maker.

Sacramento State's Jake Johnson was the event's low individual, firing a 6-under, 66 on his second round to finish with a 139.
