California State Open: McCabe Hangs On
SOBOBA SPRINGS, CALIF. (Nov. 11, 2010) -- Michael McCabe posted a 2-over-par 74 on the final day but that was enough seal the victory by two shots and take home the trophy and the winner's chck for $16,000.
Former PGA Tour player and San Diego resident Alex Aragon finished second with scores of 65-72-69-206.
Geoff Gonzalez and Michael Kim shared low amateur honors with seven-over-par totals of 69-74-78 --221 and 71-72-78--221 respectively.
ABOUT THE California State Open
The Championship will be a 72-hole stroke play
tournament contested over four days. Following the
conclusion of 36-holes, the field will be cut to the Top
60 players and ties. Championship is open to both
Professionals and Amateurs. Amateurs must carry an
index of 2.4 or below at the time of entry. Pre-
qualifying required for non-exempt players.
