Thornberry wins Nor Cal Open, Amateur Misko takes Fourth
Misko takes fourth among top NorCal pros
CORNING, Calif. (Sept.15, 2010) - One of the most storied and a prestigious tournament in the state, the Northern California Open has been contested since 1920 and boasts a roster of past champions that includes Tony Lema and Peter Jacobsen. This three day championship, brought to you by proud presenting partner Rolling Hills Casino was contested at the new home site of the Northern California Open Championship, Sevillano Links at Rolling Hills Casino Resort (Par 72) in Corning, California.
With a final three-day score of 9 under par 207, Ryan Thornberry of Ceres, California added his name to the list of distinguished past champions as the 2010 Northern California Open Champion. The top amateur player, Paul Misko from Thousand Oaks, CA finished the event with a final three day score of 5 under par 211 and finished fourth. In the spring Misko finished up his golf season at Ventura College with a WSC Championship title and was named All State.
The top Northern California PGA Professionals; Jason Owen of the Mobile Golf Fitting Lab in Marina, CA, Head PGA Professional Jason Schmuhl of Windsor Golf Club and Assistant PGA Professional Eric Goettsch of Tehama Golf Club, finished the championship with a three way tie and a final score of 1 under par 215.
