Pictor victorious at Senior Women's North and South
PINEHURST, N.C. (Aug 26, 2010) - In a field stacked with USGA champions, amateurgolf.com member Brenda Pictor of Marietta, Georgia emerged the winner of the 53rd Senior Women's North and South Amateur Championship played at Pinehurst. Pictor edged out second round leader Lisa Schlesinger of Laytonsville, Maryland by one stroke with a three day total of one over par 217. Other notables include Carolyn Creekmore of Dallas, Texas, the 2004 U.S. Senior Women's Champion, who shot a five over par 221 and Anna Schultz of Rockwall, Texas, the 2007 U.S. Senior Women's Champion who was twelve over at 228.

In the super senior division, Beatriz Arenas of Guatemala edged out Mary Hill of Winston Salem, North Carolina by one stroke with a total 232.

ABOUT THE North & South Senior Women's

Part of the annual North & South series of tournaments at Pinehurst that include Men's, Women's, Juniors and Seniors. Entries are open to female golfers who meet the requirements below. All applicants must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status and meet the requirements of the USGA Gender Policy.

In the Women's Open Division, applicants must have reached 50 years of age by start of tournament to be eligible for competition. In the Women's Super-Senior Division, applicants must have reached 60 years of age by start of tournament to be eligible for competition.

FORMAT: 54-holes of stroke play will determine the Champion. Play will be divided into four divisions (Women’s Open, and Women’s Super- Senior) and contested with one round each on three different Pinehurst courses. A full field will consist of 90 total women between both divisions.
