Greenville, Miss. (Aug. 22, 2010) -Another beautiful day greeted the senior golfers today for the final round of the Senior Amateur at Greenville Country Club.

Cecil Watkins set the tone early firing a third round 77 to give him a total of 228 which was good enough to win the Grand Masters Division for the second year in a row by nine shots. Super Seniors Cliff Camp and Bobo Catoe finished tied for the lead and headed to the first tee for the Super Senior Championship playoff. Catoe, of Sumner put a quick end to the playoff with a par on the first hole.

While the last of the field approached the 15th tee a storm came through Greenville. The remainder of the players made it back on the course after two hours, despite wet conditions. Andrew Abide of Greenville managed to hold on to the lead despite pressure from competitor Robert Willis of Grenada. Abide’s short game has been extraordinary over the three round championship and proved to make the difference. The Mississippi State Golf Association thanks Steven Driggers and the entire staff at Greenville Country Club for hosting the 2010 event.
