HAYMARKET, Virginia (July 28, 2010) -- The Dave King Invitational has been conducted at the Evergreen Country Club for the last eleven years of it's twelve year existence with most of the national field of top senior and super-senior amateurs, as well as the top local amateurs having played the well conditioned course mutilple times.
Tom Studer from Joliet, IL, however, overcame the home course advantage of his fellow competitors and won this year's title on his first attempt, defeating Vienna, Virginia's Pat Tallent on the first extra hole.
Studer finished with a three-under 69 and three day total one-under 215. Tallent had a final round 1-under 71 after shooting even-par 72s in each of the first two rounds.
