Anderson Memorial Four Ball: Tennessee Team wins
MAMARONECK, NY (July 11, 2010) Parker Smith and Philip Breeding of The Country Club (Tenn.) outdueled the host club’s Peter Meyer on Sunday to win the 74th John G. Anderson Memorial Four Ball Championship at Winged Foot. They knocked off Huntington’s Joseph Saladino and Dave Boccia 1-up in the semifinals, then prevailed 2-up in the final.

John G. Benson and Don Erickson III of Punxsutawney (Pa.) Country Club beat Joe Sommers and Jim Graham of Winged Foot 2 and 1 to win the senior division championship. They beat another Winged Foot duo, Robert Howe and Michael Murr 4 and 2 in the semifinals.

Perhaps the most coveted best-ball invitation in all of amateur golf. Created in 1933 to honor Winged Foot founding member and two time U.S. Amateur runner-up John G. Anderson, the event consists of a 36 hole qualifier followed by two days of match play competition in both Championship and Senior divisions.
