Kentucky State Am: Playoff Between Brothers as Jordan Blann Prevails

Seth Blann and Richmond's Mayor Connie Lawson
RICHMOND, KY (June 10, 2010)--It has been a decade since Eric Mason won his back to back KGA State Amateur Championships. Today was Jordan Blann's day to claim the same distinction as he took top honors at the 2010 AT&T Kentucky State Amateur Championship to go along with the same title last year. But this was definitely a different way to win a title.
Jordan Blann was one shot behind the leaders as they began their final round but finished two shots ahead with a one under par 71 and a three day total of 206. But, he may not have counted on his younger brother Seth to be his closest competitor. Seth's final round 67 set up a tie at the end of the tournament and they were forced into a sudden-death playoff for the title. Jordan proceeded to birdie the first extra hole and secure the victory for the second straight year.
Chris Morris and Jesse Massie matched scores for the third straight day and tied for third at 8 under par 208. The best scores of the final round, six under 66, came from Lexington's Brian Fister and Zack Butler, teammates at Eastern Kentucky University.
