TSAWWASSEN, B.C., CANADA (June 10, 2010)--Chris Maletis of Portland, Ore. captured his second consecutive Pacific Northwest Senior Men’s Amateur Championship title with a final round 1-over par 72 at Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen, B.C.
Maletis dominated the field this week with a six stroke victory and a three day total of 3-under par 210. This is his third PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur title and fourth PNGA victory overall. Maletis is one of the country’s top-ranked senior golfers and in addition to his victory this week his season already includes a win at the Senior Masters in April, and a semifinalist appearance at the PNGA Master-40 last month.

In The Inaugural Pacific Northwest Golf Association Super Senior Men’s Amateur Championship Ted King of Bellingham, Wash. beat Kwan Choo of West Vancouver, B.C. on their first playoff hole to win the title. King held a five stroke lead with only two holes to play, but a double bogey, bogey finish and a birdie, birdie finish by Choo left them tied after 54-holes. King was able to get up-and-down for par on the first playoff hole and Choo was unable to get up-and-down from the greenside bunker to seal the victory. For the championship King was 13-over par 226 after his round of 5-over 76 today.
