Women's Southern Am: Three tied for Medalist
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Georgia (May 31, 2010) -- Match play qualifying was played today at The 95th Women's Southern Amateur Championship. Three women - Elizabeth Brightwell of the University of Virginia; Ashley Lance of the University of Mississippi, and Mary Alice Murphy of Lookout Mountain, TN tied for the low qualifying score at 72.
For Murphy, golf away from home this week is a good thing. Her home club, The Honors Course, is busy hosting the NCAA Men's Division I Championship anyway.

36 holes of qualifying followed by the top 32
advancing to a match play tournament. Open and
Mid-Amateur divisions. Entry is open to female
amateur golfers who are members of the WSGA
through a WSGA
member golf club, women’s golf organization, or a
college/university in one of the fifteen southern
states or
the District of Columbia.
