LOUISVILLR, KY (July 27, 2005) -- Pikeville's Bruce G. Walters came from three shots behind with a sizzling 1 under par 71 and a two day total of 148 to win the 2005 KSGA Senior Amateur Championship today at Big Spring Country Club. Vaughan Jones of Louisville was second with a total of 150. First round leader William Simpson from Bowling Green fell into a third place tie with Louisvillian Larry Woods at 151. Thanks to Big Spring Country Club and sponsors Musselman Hotels, Baker-Geary-Dunne Foundation, and S.J. Anderson Company Builders.

ABOUT THE Kentucky Senior Amateur

Format is 36 holes of stroke play with Senior, Mid- Senior, Masters, and Legends divisions at both gross and net.

Entrants in all KGA tournaments shall be required to have an active Handicap Index at a Kentucky Golf Association Member Club at the time of entry and meet the championship’s residency requirements.
