GULF SHORES, AL (September 24, 2009)--Ron Goldburg earned his first Society of Seniors title Thursday after close to a wire-to-wire performance in the Super Seniors Fall Classic at Kiva Dunes Golf Club. Goldburg, 65, a real estate builder and developer from Delray Beach, Fla., shot 70-76-72 for 218, winning his age group by two strokes.

The top three finishers all matched par as Georgians Don Marsh of Alpharetta and Spencer Sappington were second and third at 220 and 221. Frank Costanzo of Savannah, Ga., was the only player to break par the final round, posting the day’s low score, a 70, to climb from seventh to fourth.

Other winners were Bob Hullender of San Antonio, Texas, 70-74, and Boyd Johnson, Statesboro, Ga., 75-older. Like Goldburg, Johnson got his first Society victory.
