Defending champion Michael Muehr of Potomac Falls, VA shot a one over par 71 in Friday's second round of qualifying at Pine Valley's Crump Memorial Tournament to win medalist honors with a score of 137. He'll face Scott Rowe of Hinsdale, IL in Saturday's first round.

Pat Tallent of Vienna, VA shot one under par 69 to win senior medalist honors with a two round total of 139. He’ll face Kent Frandsen of Lebanon, IN in the first round Saturday. The public is invited to view the final match on Sunday September 20th. The gates will open at approximately 1:00pm.

The George A. Crump Memorial Tournament-- named for the hotelier and course architect most famous for building Pine Valley -- is arguably the premier mid- amateur event in the United States. The invitational field is made of of top players from around the United States and the UK. The format for the four days is two rounds of stroke play qualifying, followed by four rounds of match play. Players are flighted according to their qualifying position, and a separate Senior flight includes three of those flights. Jay Sigel has won the event the most times, with nine victories between 1975 and 1993.

Sunday at The Crump Cup is unique; the public is invited to spectate the final matches - a shuttle from a nearby parking area is provided.
