PACIFIC GROVE, California (March 1, 2009) - For the the third time in the last two years, Ocean Honda sponsored a hole-in-one car in one of our events, and an ace was made, but on the wrong hole.

This time, Jeff Bell aced the 10th hole but he can sleap easy knowing that on a 109 yard hole hole-in-one insurance isn't offered. And Bell, who grew up just three blocks from the course has recorded an amazing 6 aces on Pacific Grove Golf Links, twice on 10, once on 1 and 2, once on the par-4 fourth, and once on No. 17 (the hole-in-one car hole).

"I think I've played the course about five thousand times," said Bell. "Not as much lately since joining Corral de Tierra, but I love it every time I play there."

Bell and his partner, Tim Auger, shot 31 on the front nine on Sunday and finished tied for fifth.

The title went to Jamie Looper and Dave Capel, who edged Tim Breland and Andrew Overton by two strokes at 13-under 127. Looper and Capel pulled away from the Breland/Overton team with a 31 on the back nine.

In the Senior Division, Marco Dusi and Ken Webb shot a blistering 8-under 62 on Sunday to overtake first round leaders Marshall Raymer and Bob Rowland. Raymer and Rowland looked to have the tournament well in hand due to some unbelievable play that included Rowland shooting 64 on his own ball on Saturday (Marshall made it clear that he too was under par, for the record) and Raymer opening with a string of four-straight birdies on Sunday.

Webb and Dusi, playing a group in front of the leaders, started with a birdie on 11 and an eagle at the par-5 12th to get to 3-under quick, then added birdies at 14 on the back, and 4 and 8 on the front to finish their bogey-free round.

In the Net Division, local boys Darian Houde of Pacific Grove and Jim Peterson of Pebble Beach shot two straight rounds of 62 to win the tournament by one over Mike Lane and Brandon Murphy.

TOURNAMENT NOTES:

* Jeff Wilson and Todd Barsotti posted a 61 on Sunday for a total of 126 that would have given them the title. The team was disqualified, unfortunately, when it was noted to the Committee that they had been seen practicing on one of the greens on the course before teeing off in the shotgun start.

* Special thanks all of our sponsors, including Lamkin for providing sample grips and Ocean Honda for the hole-in-one vehicle. Also to Joe Riekena, PGA and the entire staff at Pacific Grove Golf Links for the fantastic service and to the staff at Point Pinos Grill for feeding us both days. We'll be back for the Christmas Classic in December!
