New Mexico/West Texas Am: Final results
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Sept. 14, 2008)--In early August 61-year-old Gary Jeffreys took fourth place at the New Mexico - West Texas Senior Amateur, less than a month later, playing against the younger folks, he went ahead and won the thing.
The Deming, N.M. resident, carded a pair of even-par 72's sandwiching a 4-over 76 to finish the New Mexico - West Texas Mid-Amateur at 220, one stroke better than 29-year-old Andy Brooks.
A trio of golfers, Anton Salome, Scott Roser and Robert Gonzales tied for third at 222.
