ROUND ROCK, TX (July 20, 2008)--Jamie Kellam won his second consecutive Central Texas Amateur at Forest Creek Golf Club in a sudden-death playoff with Alex Ellis and Robby Ormand on Sunday.

Kellam, playing in the final pairing, sank a 5-foot putt for par on the par-4 18th for a final round 2-over 74 and 36-hole total 3-over 147. That tied him for first with Ellis and Ormand, each of whom closed with 1-under 71s.

The three went back to the par-4 first hole for the playoff, where each made par.

On the uphill par-4 second, Kellam put his approach shot to within eight feet and rolled it in for birdie and the win.

"This was a lot like last year," said Kellam, who played at Pflugerville High and Texas Christian University. "I didn't do anything great, just kind of hung in there."

"I didn't know what the putt on 18 meant, but it turned out to be big," Kellam said. "The putt in the playoff was just one where I felt I read it well and just thought I would make it."

He is the first two-time winner of the championship.

Ellis, 16, and Ormand, an incoming senior at Texas Christian, tied for second.
