Chung, the 2004 US Junior Amateur runner-up, showed his short game skills by saving par several times on the tough Donald Ross designed greens of Carolina Golf and Country Club in Charlotte. Gupton, playing on his home course maneuvered his way through match play using his local knowledge, but ran into Chang, who was Mister Consistency all week, which helped him become the top junior golfer in North Carolina.
