North Carolina (CGA) Junior Championship
CHARLOTTE, NC (June 23, 2005) -- The top two qualifiers in the girls division squared off against each other in the championship match on Friday on the Donald Ross designed Carolina Golf & Country Club in Charlotte, NC. Medalist Abby Bools rolled through her first 2 opponents with little trouble. She faced the tough opponent in Amber Littman of Stoney Creek. Littman, a 16 year of high school junior won 3 up with 2 holes left over Bools, a high school senior from Hickory. Littman took control of the match going 4 up after 10 holes, but Bools battled back winning #11 and #12. Littman finished the match with an up and down par of the tough par 3 16th. Littman becomes the 9th winner of the N.C. Junior Girls Championship.

David Chung of Fayetteville captured his first CGA championship by defeating Justin Gupton of Charlotte in the finals of the 38th N.C. Junior Boys Championship by a 3&2 score. Chung, the 2004 US Junior Amateur runner-up, showed his short game skills by saving par several times on the tough Donald Ross designed greens of Carolina Golf and Country Club in Charlotte. Gupton, playing on his home course maneuvered his way through match play using his local knowledge, but ran into Chang, who was Mister Consistency all week, which helped him become the top junior golfer in North Carolina.
