FORT WORTH, Texas — True innovation delivers results, and high-performance graphite shafts designed and manufactured by UST (United Sports Technologies®) captured another impressive win on the PGA Tour. The champion at this week’s Stanford St. Jude Championship played an Accra™ XT60 shaft with UST’s ‘AXIV Technology’ in his Nike Sumo driver. The combo delivered amazing performance and accuracy with the champion scoring a 73.65 driving accuracy percentage, more than 10 percent higher than the Tour average.

Graphite shafts with UST’s new AXIV Technology incorporate an exotic material that resists deformation at impact and then restores the shaft to its normal shape more efficiently.

“The new AXIV Technology is the most innovative material in graphite shaft production today, and it has already proven itself with multiple wins on the world tours,” says Jim McIntosh, tour representative for UST. “While some graphite shaft companies attempt to reinvent the wheel with new packaging and color schemes, UST has developed a technology that is truly ahead of the curve. We’re extremely pleased to see this technology producing superior consistency and accuracy at the highest levels of the game.”

Unlike any other graphite shaft innovation on the market today, AXIV Technology by UST weaves four different modulus carbon fibers in four different directions all in one ply of material and establishes an entirely new standard for premium graphite shafts. AXIV creates a ‘Rapid Shaft Recovery System’ that resists deformation and returns the shaft to a round shape faster than any other shaft on the market. The ‘loading’ and ‘unloading’ of the golf swing, alters the characteristics and shape of a shaft. The AXIV Tetra-Axial weave not only aids in the recovery of the shaft to ensure a consistent return to the ball with each swing, the single ply offers superior feel in the hands.

High-performance UST graphite shafts are played by some of the world’s best players such as Jim Furyk, Davis Love III, Rod Pampling and many others.
