Women's Southern Amateur: Nunn wins 3 & 2
KINGWOOD, Texas (June 10, 2008)--University of Arkansas senior Lucy Nunn captured the 93rd Women’s Southern Amateur with a par on the 34th hole to edge out Louisiana State’s Lindy Labauve.
Last year the women's amateurgolf.com - Bridgestone Golf Player-of-the-Year and fellow Lady Razorback Stacy Lewis took home the title.
The players were all square at the end of the 18th hole but Nunn quickly surged ahead and to go up three through the next nine before Labauve won the 27th hole to cut the lead to two.
After the turn, Nunn again went to 3-up after the 28th hole but Labauve birdied the next hole to cut it again to two.
They halved a couple of holes but Nunn won the 33rd hole with a par and closed the match with both players playing to par on the 34th hole.
