Memorial Amateur: Polski holds on for victory
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 26, 2008)--Chris Polski opened the Memorial Amateur with a 68, one of the few rounds in the 60's throughout in the Memorial Day Amateur, and was able to string together two more steady rounds of 70-72 to finish at even-par 210 and take a two-stroke victory over Derek Ernst.
With the wet and windy weather making the Eugene, Ore., native feel comfortable through two rounds, he was able to hold off challengers Ernst, a Clovis- product who will take his talents to UNLV next year and Kent Yamane and Domingo Jojola.
The 21-year-old Polski currently works at his home golf course in Eugene, with hopes of turning pro in the near future.
