SOS Ed Tutwiler 4-Ball: Bauch, Miller take victory
GORDONSVILLE, Va. (May 8, 2008)--The Florida team of Rich Bauch, Naples, and Tim Miller, Venice, rallied Thursday to win the 26th annual Society of Seniors’ Ed Tutwiler Memorial Four-Ball at Spring Creek Golf Club.

A final round of 68, which included three birdies on the last six holes, pushed Bauch and Miller from a two-stroke deficit Wednesday to the victory by two shots at 13 under par 203.

Tied for second at 205 were the defending champions, Paul Simson of Raleigh, N.C., and Robert Kulp of Winston-Salem, N.C., with the 2002 winners, Jerry  Greenbaum of Atlanta and Alan Foster of Manlius, N.Y., who had the day’s low score, 66. Simson and Kulp shot 67.

In the super seniors division for members 65 and older went to a playoff at 205 with Phil Saylor of Johnstown, Pa., making birdie on the first extra hole as he  teamed with Dave King of Sterling, Va., for the win. They edged Bob Wernick of Rancho Mirage, Calif., and Rich Anderson of Bloomington, Minn., the second round co-leaders.

The Four-Ball, which honors the memory of one of the Society’s founders, drew 28 teams in each flight to an Ed Carton design rated the best new course in the
U.S. in 2007 by Golf Digest. There was a light rain at the start of the final round which cleared out as the day wore on.
