Princeton Invitational: St. John's takes the victory

PRINCETON N.J. (April 13, 2008)--St. John's held off Princeton and George Mason as the Princeton Invitational concluded Sunday afternoon at Springdale Golf Club as the Red Storm won by four shots.

St. John's finished at +17 as a team while Princeton and George Mason ended at +21. A pair of St. John's golfers, Keegan Bradley and Evan Beirne, tied for the individual title at -2, one shot ahead of Temple's Paul Amess.

Max Schechter, Andrew Maliniak and Evan Harmeling all tied for 11th and led Princeton at +4. Schechter added a 79 to his 67 and 71, while Maliniak carded another 73 to follow up his 71 and 73 from the first two rounds. Harmeling shot a 71, 72 and 74 on the tournament, while Juan Pablo Candela was Princeton's fourth scorer, tying for 37th at +12 with an 80, 74 and 71. Jake Skinner finished 77th at +26 with a 77, 78 and 84 to complete Princeton's fivesome.

Tom Klingman and Eric Salazar competed individually, with Klingman tying for 65th at +20 with a 73, 77 and 83, while Salazar finished 71st with his 77, 75 and 82 to come in at +21.
