International Four Ball set for Friday
PALM CITY, Florida (February 16, 2011) -- The winning teams from last year are returning for the 55th annual International Four-Ball golf tournament scheduled Friday through Sunday at The Fox Club.
Included are Chris Reeves of Jupiter and Keith Decker, Martinsville, Va., mid-amateur division for players 25-54 years old; and Chris Lange, Boynton Beach, and Chip Lutz, Reading, Pa., seniors, 55-older. Reeves and Decker won with 21 under par 195, Lange and Lutz at 19 under 197.
The historic tournament had accepted 68 teams including 28 mid-amateurs, 33 seniors and 7 in the inaugural “legends division” for players 65 and older.
ABOUT THE International Four-Ball
Started in 1957, the International Four-Ball is one of
the most
prestigious amateur events in the country. The
Championship includes Mid-Amateur (ages 25-54),
Senior (ages 55-64)
and
Legends (ages 65 and up) Divisions. All divisions
compete in a Four-
Ball
Stroke Play format which is contested over 3 days
and
54 holes. This prestigious event has a rich history,
with past champions such as Jack Nicklaus, Deane
Beman, Dick Siderowf, Vinnie Giles, Jim Holtgrieve
and Downing Gray.
