Ladies British Open Mid-Amateur Championship
THE NAIRN GOLF CLUB (July 9, 2006) -- Martine Pow won the Ladies British Open Mid - Amateur Strokeplay Championship at Nairn with a 3 round total of 220, eight shots clear of her nearest competitor.
Pow had lead the event from start to finish posting 72 and 75 in the first two rounds which were contested in difficult conditions then sealing the win with a solid final round 73.
The new Scottish Champion will not be exempt through to final qualifying in the Weetabix Women's British Open.
Jo Nicholson from wrexham, the 2004 champion, finished in second place 8 shots behind pow, while Fiona Lockhart (St Regulus) finished in third place with 231.
Cara Gruber beat Australian Bronwyn Lane into fourth place with an impressive final round of 76.
