Wright, Roberts win Women's Texas Partnership
Ethel Wright and Dianne Roberts combined to win the Women's Texas Golf Association's Partnership event at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, TX.
In the two-woman quota system, Wright and Roberts compiled 29.5 points to win outright by two shots over Nancy Beck and Fallon Vaughn.
Wright and Roberts, who carry 11 and 12.5 indexes, respectively, put together consistent rounds at the two-day event to overcome a six-point deficit after Round 1.
Linda Sackett and Nannette Wheelis, who led after the first round, stumbled in Day 2, finishing third with 25.5 points.

45 holes of Round Robin Net Four-Ball Match Play.
Two competitors play as partners in a 9-hole match
against two other competitors playing as partners,
with each player playing her own ball. The lowest net
score of the partners is the score for the hole. Each
hole will be worth 2 points, a tie will be worth 1
point. The team with the most points after the 45
holes will be the flight winner. The teams will be pre-
flighted into flights of six (6) based on the combined
team handicap index. Maximum spread of partners’
index of 8.0 will be used for the purpose of creating
flights and scoring. Entries are open to female
amateur golfers with a certified WHS Handicap
Index.
