Cowboys Win ASU Invitational
AUGUSTA, GA. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 292 during its final round at the Insperity Augusta State Invitational en route to a down-to-the-wire victory on Sunday at Forest Hills Golf Club.

The Cowboys entered the final round with a 10-shot cushion over Tennessee at the par-72, 7,029-yard layout. However, the Volunteers fired a closing 283 with three players breaking par on the day, while OSU posted a closing 292 to come in at 16-under 848 and one shot clear of Tennessee. Clemson finished a distant third at 860.

For the Cowboys, the win was their third consecutive this spring and second in a row without first-team All-American Peter Uihlein, who will be competing at The Masters this week. Overall, they have now won six times in nine starts on the year.

OSU senior Kevin Tway maintained his hold on the top spot on the individual leaderboard with a final round 71 to earn his fourth career victory. In the process, he came up big in the team race, posting back-to-back birdies on Nos. 17 and 18 to provide the winning margin.

The Edmond, Okla., native offset a pair of bogeys at Nos. 7 and 8 with birdies at Nos. 4 and 9 to turn at even-par 36. Tway moved to 1-over with a bogey at the 12th before dropping back into red figures with birdies on the final two holes. He finished at 12-under 204 for a five-shot victory.

For Tway, the win was the fourth of his career and his first since winning the Puerto Rico Classic last year. Additionally, he became the third different Cowboy to win an event this year, joining Hoffmann and Uihlein.
