LEBANON, Tenn. (Sept 15. 2010) - Another sweet victory for Maggie Scott of Charleston. Taking the championship title for her eighth time, Scott, who lead the tournament the entire week, closed her final round with a 77, taking her to an overall winning 225 (73-75-77). Scott accepted the Connie Day trophy and Champion crystal award during the awards presentation that followed the final round. Scott attributed the win to the women of the tournament who come out year after year, who give their hardest and take away not only tournament scores but also new friendships. “It’s the people that make the tournament”, said Scott.

Two contenders were two strokes away from taking Maggie’s title. Tied for second was Linda Mullins of Cleveland, who had the two lowest rounds of the tournament, shooting par for her second and final rounds for an overall 227 (83-72-72). Also tied for second was Jean Roise of Fairfield Glade who posted a 76 for her final round and a 227 total (76-75-76).

Finishing at the top of the first flight was Marianne Fischer of Bristol, with a three day score of 242 (85-78-79). Runner-up in this flight was June Crawford of Lebanon, ending today’s play with a 76 and overall 248 (85-87-76).

Winning the first place spot in the second flight was Adria Herrmann of Oliver Springs, who came back from a 94 on the first day to win with an overall 274 (94-93-87). Kim DeMoss of Nashville took the runner-up seat in the second flight shooting a 91 today, for a total score of 275 (95-89-91).

First honors in the third flight went to Susan Heinzman of Loudon. Heinzman finished Round 3 with a 94, putting her total of 288 (103-91-94) at the top. Shooting a 290 (102-90-98), Barbara Cook of Knoxville landed the title of runner-up within the third flight.

The 31st year of The Tennessee Women’s Senior Amateur Championship hosted at Five Oaks Golf & Country Club was an excellent event. With the scenic course, the perfect weather, a great host club staff, and fantastic tournament chairman- Mary Kelly, the 31st year of this Championship was a true success.

ABOUT THE Tennessee Women's Senior & Mid-Am

Participants in the Tennessee Senior Women's Amateur must be at least 50 years of age. Participants in the Tennessee Women's Mid-Amateur must be at least 21 years of age and not enrolled in undergraduate collegiate courses and/or competing on a collegiate golf team.

Open to female amateur golfers with the following requirements (1) meet the USGA policy on transgender individuals and (2) have an active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index from a TGA member club or course. Handicap Index limit is 36.0.

Format: Play will be contested at 36-holes of stroke play (this includes the first 18-hole qualifying round).

Qualifying Round: The first round of stroke play will be the qualifying round. After all qualifying scores are posted, the field will be divided into flights with all like scores in the same flight--the number of flights will be determined by the total number of participants.
