Gasparilla Invitational: Oliver Holds On for victory
TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2008)-- Peter Dachisen, who has won the past two Gasparilla Invitationals, took an early lead at the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club after carding a 67, but was overtaken by eventual winner Patrick Oliver of Tarpon Springs.
Oliver birdied the last hole of the rain-shortened event to take a one-stroke victory over Kevin Hammer, who was making a late charge thanks to birdies on five of his final six holes.
Oliver finished 68-67--135, while Hammer went 71-65--136. Dachisen took third at 67-72--139.
