France Takes Top 4 Spots at Portuguese International Amateur

CHARNECA DA CAPARICA, PORTUGAL (February 21, 2010)--Many of Europe's finest players gathered at Aroeira Golf Club for the 80th Portuguese International Amateur Championship. But it was France who separated themselves from all of the other countries involved, filling the top 4 places in the the final results.
Johann Lopez-Lozaro of France fired a final-round 64 for a 14-under 274 total, and a 3 shot win over countrymen Joel Stalter and Alexander Levy. Romain Wattel finished solo fourth at 9-under.
Tied for fifth at 8-under were Ross Kellett of Scotland, Matthew Southgate of England, and Juan Francisco Sarasti of Spain.
With the win, Lopez-Lozaro has moved up the #43 in the
Golfweek/amateurgolf.com World Rankings. Kellett is the highest-ranked player in the field, currently sitting at World #13.
ABOUT THE Portuguese International Amateur
72 hole stroke play championship. The 40 lowest
scores over the first 54 holes including ties shall
qualify for the 4th and final round.
