A Trip to Torrey Pines

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (May 30, 2007)—Since amateurgolf.com moved its headquarters from Northern California to San Diego County, one of the most common questions we’ve heard is: How do I get to play Torrey Pines?

We decided it was high time to go out on the course and get that question answered. On the right, you can see some of the on-course interviews we did on a recent Wednesday in May.

Speaking with course staff, members of the men’s club and regular golfers, we learned a few things. Firstly, recent changes in the rate structure have brought some complaints. Although the raise in rates for San Diego city residents was minimal, San Diego Country residents are now treated no different than visitors from across the country, often leading them to be charged greens fees 100 dollars higher than their neighbors.

Golfers also have the option to book a tee time up to 90 days in advance for an added cost of 25 dollars.

To learn more about the course, visit www.torreypinesgolfcourse.com or contact the pro shop at (858) 452-3226.
